No club exposes a face-to-path gap faster than the driver — the ball is in the air long enough for even a small mismatch to turn into real yardage lost off-line. It's usually the single biggest fix in the bag.
Face Angle and Path, Read Separately
Our dual-camera impact bay isolates face angle and swing path as two distinct numbers on every swing — not blended into a single "shot shape" guess. We log both with your current driver and every demo head we test, side by side.
From there we map the gap: is your face open relative to your path, closed relative to it, or matched? Is the gap consistent swing to swing, or does it widen under a faster tempo? Every recommendation traces back to that specific relationship.
What Actually Changes in a Driver Fitting
Face Angle at Address
An adjustable hosel lets us open or close the face in small increments to counter a path that won't move on its own, without asking you to change your swing.
Loft
A negative attack angle usually calls for more static loft than the number stamped on the sole, especially once the face-to-path gap is dialed tighter and spin drops.
Shaft Weight & Flex
Shaft weight shapes how quickly the face returns to square through the hitting zone — a heavier or lighter shaft can shift your face-to-path number by a degree or more on its own.
Head Design & MOI
Higher-MOI heads resist twisting on off-center strikes, which keeps a stray face-to-path reading from turning into an even bigger miss.
Center of Gravity
CG placement shapes launch and spin independent of loft, which changes how visible a given face-to-path gap looks in the resulting ball flight.
Grip Size
An oversized or undersized grip changes hand action through impact, which can quietly shift your face angle relative to your path without you feeling it happen.
What a Driver Fitting Can Fix
The Slice
A face wide open relative to path. Setup and swing changes help, but the right loft, shaft, and face-angle combination can shrink the curve meaningfully while those changes settle in.
The Push-Slice
Starts right of target and keeps curving further right. Usually the largest face-to-path gap we measure on the driver — often paired with an out-to-in path under pressure.
The Hook
A face closed relative to path, often amplified by a shaft that lets the head release too early. A firmer tip section or a small loft adjustment frequently tightens this up.
Inconsistent Strike Location
A dispersion pattern scattered across the face makes the face-to-path number unreliable session to session. A higher-MOI head paired with correct length usually shrinks that pattern first.
